Set a daunting 170, South Africa could only muster 129-8 in 20 overs.
Earlier, captain Nat Sciver-Brunt led from the front with a half-century as England posted a strong total against South Africa in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final at The Oval on Thursday.
Put into bat first, England racked up 169-5 in their 20 overs.
The home side had a poor start as they lost both of their openers for 20 inside three overs. Marizanne Kapp accounted for Amy Jones’ dismissal, who made two, whereas Shabnim Ismail removed Danni Wyatt-Hodge for 12.
To further dent their progress, Ismail pinned Alice Capsey for one, making it 23-3.
However, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Heather Knight paired up for the fourth wicket and shared a 133 partnership that not only brought the Three Lions back into the game but also left them in a strong position.
