TRINIDAD: West Indies suffered an injury blow as Brandon King was ruled out for the remainder of day three’s play against Pakistan due to injury.
Pakistan began the day at 266-2 with Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique making a cautious start. The West Indies bowlers kept the scoring in check during the opening 10 overs, maintaining tight lines and lengths to dry up the flow of runs.
The pressure eventually resulted in Babar’s run-out in the 75th over of the game, as he added only two to his overnight score of 86. Pakistan skipper hopes of ending his four-year wait for a Test century were dashed following a mix-up with Abdullah.

While attempting a quick single after nudging the ball into the off side, Babar was caught well short by a direct hit from Brandon King at cover, who also injured himself in the process.
King injured his lower back while collecting the ball and releasing the throw. Soon after the incident, he remained on the ground in visible discomfort and required a stretcher to leave the field.
Following an initial medical assessment, Cricket West Indies said the 31-year-old was suffering from lower back muscle spasms and would play no further part on day three as a precaution.
His condition will continue to be monitored by the team’s medical staff.
