Pakistan's Arslan Ash captures eighth EVO Tekken championship

LAS VEGAS: Pakistan’s ace Tekken player Arslan Ash further cemented his place among esports’ greatest competitors after capturing a record-extending eighth Evolution Championship Series (EVO) title at the Las Vegas Convention Centre.

The Lahore-born star defeated South Korea’s Rangchu 3-2 to lift the Tekken 8 trophy at EVO 2026, securing his fourth consecutive championship at the prestigious Las Vegas event and taking his overall EVO title tally to eight.

Tournament organisers acknowledged the historic achievement on their official X account.

“Arslan Ash wins TEKKEN 8 at #Evo2026, claiming his 4th Evo Las Vegas Championship in a row and bringing his total up to 8,” EVO posted.

Widely regarded as the greatest Tekken player of all time, the Pakistani esports icon has dominated the international fighting game scene for several years.

He won the EVO Las Vegas Tekken 8 championship in 2023, which was his fifth overall title. But he did not stop there, as he won consecutive titles until the latest edition in 2026, becoming the most decorated competitor in the tournament’s history.

Arslan first burst onto the global stage in 2019 when he stunned the gaming community by winning the Tekken 7 title in Japan, followed by victories at EVO events in the United States.
