
DUBAI: Pakistan leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed has climbed to second place in the latest ICC Men’s T20I bowling rankings, overtaking India’s Varun Chakaravarthy in the latest update released on Wednesday.
Abrar Ahmed moved up one position to second with 736 rating points and is now within touching distance of Afghanistan star Rashid Khan, who continues to lead the rankings with 753 points.
The latest rankings also saw several Pakistan bowlers retain their places. All-rounder Mohammad Nawaz remained 12th, emerging fast bowler Salman Mirza stayed 20th, while left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi held on to 30th place with 602 rating points.
In the batting rankings, Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan maintained his impressive third position with 848 rating points.
At the top, India’s Ishan Kishan returned to the No.1 spot after overtaking teammate Abhishek Sharma, who slipped to second following a dip in form.
Farhan remains Pakistan’s highest-ranked T20I batter, with Saim Ayub the next Pakistani on the list in 40th place. Former captain Babar Azam occupies 42nd position, while T20I skipper Salman Ali Agha is ranked 44th.

The all-rounders’ rankings remained largely unchanged for Pakistan. Saim Ayub retained his third place, while Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza continued to lead the standings ahead of India’s Hardik Pandya.
Meanwhile, there were modest gains for Pakistan players in the latest Test rankings.
Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam both climbed one spot to 18th and 19th, respectively, in the Test batting rankings. Saud Shakeel remained 23rd, while Salman Ali Agha slipped two places to 28th.
Among Test bowlers, left-arm spinner Noman Ali continued to be Pakistan’s highest-ranked bowler, retaining seventh place.
Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Abbas both gained two positions to move up to 25th and 26th, respectively, in the latest standings.
