
DAMBULLA: Chamika Karunaratne’s gutsy knock powered Galle Gallants to a 43-run win over Dambulla Sixers in the 14th match of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2026 on Sunday.

Set a daunting 221, Sixers were limited to 176-6 in 20 overs.
Earlier, Sam Harper extended his rich vein of form with another impressive innings as Chamika Karunaratne’s late blitz helped Galle Gallants post a massive total.
Opting to bat first at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Gallants demonstrated a commanding batting display and racked up 220-6 in their 20 overs.
Sam Harper and Nurul Hasan raced to 40 in 3.3 overs. Hasan struck five fours and a six in his 29 off 13.
Following the wicket, Charith Asalanka and Harper shared a half-century stand to take the total near the 100-run mark. Both batters made 31 and 41, respectively, before the Sixers removed the pair in the ninth over.
As a result, Gallants were 108-3 at the halfway mark of the innings. After quick wickets, Chamika Karunaratne provided the innings with a late flurry, smashing 72 off just 34 balls, including six maximums and four boundaries.
For Dambulla Sixers, Dushmantha Chameera took five wickets.
