A team of eight Pakistani women climbers has successfully summited the 6,400-meter Khusar Gang Peak in Shigar district of Gilgit-Baltistan, it emerged on Monday.
Alpine Club of Pakistan organized the successful expedition.
Khusar Gang is a 20,997 ft peak in the Karakoram range of Gilgit-Baltistan’s Shigar district. Regarded as one of Pakistan’s popular trekking and mountaineering objectives, the mountain offers climbers a challenging ascent while serving as an important training peak for high-altitude expeditions.
The historic ascent was led by Bibi Afzoon alongside women climbers from Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Islamabad.
Ali Muhammad Sadpara, Sadiq Hussain Sadpara, and Ilyas Hashe provided technical leadership to ensure the expedition’s success, while Quaid Shigri undertook the crucial task of rope-fixing on the Khusar Gang peak.
Congratulating the female mountaineers on this magnificent achievement, the Secretary-General of the Alpine Club Ayaz Shigri remarked that they demonstrated exceptional courage, determination, and professional expertise throughout the expedition.

He described the successful summit of Khusar Gang as a highly significant milestone for the promotion and encouragement of women’s mountaineering in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Zeba Batool, hailing from Shigar, shared the joy of summit on her social media handle, describing the achievement as a significant milestone.
